Story
Thanks for visiting my Race for Life page.
Everyone that knows me, knows that I hate running! Especially in public! But I participated in Cancer Research's 5K run last year, and would like to do it properly and seriously this year, and hopefully not in a dress & heels this time round and with some really good anti-allergy tablets ;-).
But yes, on a serious note I would like to play my own little part in helping to raise funds for vital research into different types of cancer.
My grandmother Raymonde was a wonderful lady, who worked hard all her life to create her own property business, raise three children, and lots of grandchildren, have a wonderful marriage and play a very active and positive part in her local and international community.
We were extremely close, she was a real inspiration to me and big influence on my personality and life, and I will always miss her beautiful spirit and gentle nature.
Unfortunately, she became sick with blood cancer in 2008, and despite the best innovative treatment, she passed away from leukaemia in 2010.
I will always miss her but I think that giving back in my own little way to help raise funds for vital research is the best way to honour her memory and help improve the lives of others that may contract different types of cancer in the future.
Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.
Gift Aid it!
If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
Sponsor me now, and we can become cancer's worst nightmare.
One day we will beat cancer. Help us make it sooner.
