We empower families with disabled children to give their child the best start in life

Story

Nadia is mosaic downs syndrome, she is 7yrs of age and has an older brother Emilio

I started attending Rutland House School for Parents with Nadia when she was about 6months old and continued until just after her 3rd birthday

We will always be grateful to the staff for their unconditional support and advise. Having a child with any additional needs is a very frightening experiance, they taught me to accept and to celebrate Nadia

The early days were hard, I think it's the 'not knowing what the future holds' thats most difficult

The staff at school for parents were always supportive and patient. Their continual hard work with Nadia eventally paid off, they taught her to roll-over, sit, crawl, stand, walk , feed herself.......the list goes on. Everything as a parent we take for granted with our children was a real challange for Nadia, but once she mastered something there was no stopping her. This continues today with her still achieveing goals and going from strength to strength.

As I said at the begining we will be eternally grateful to school for parents and as a way of saying         'Thank you' Nadia will be doing a sponsored dog walk on Sunday July 18th at Wollaton Park. She is borrowing her Aunty Wendy's dog 'Chloe' and they intend to complete a course around the park measuring 4.3km

This is by no means an easy task for Nadia, she tires quickley and often suffers from acute leg and joint pain.

Please sponsor our brave little girl and give Rutland House School for Parents some much needed support

Thank you
