Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime - what a shocking and sad statistic!
Unfortunately, our dear mum was one of those people and passed away last year from small cell lung cancer that metastasised to the brain.
Just like so many other families who have experienced the devastating effects of cancer and losing a loved one - it's extremely hard for all involved.
Our mum fought to her last breath and managed to still laugh and put a smile on everyone's faces. She was just amazing and is missed beyond words could describe.
Mum was an advocate for Cancer Research and used to regularly donate which continued until she passed away in June last year.
Cancer Research receives no funding from the government and relies on donations to help scientists get closer to finding a cure. Their site is a great hub of information for families and those diagnosed with cancer and provides a nurse helpline to answer questions.
I am taking part in the Kilimanjaro challenge to help spread awareness, raise funds for the charity and in memory of our sweet, funny, kind, loving and beautiful mum.
Hopefully one day, cancer will be eradicated, and the suffering experienced by millions of people living with cancer can be stopped.
Thank you in advance for your donation, every little helps no matter how small.
Love Nadia xx
*Please note: I am fully funding the cost of doing this challenge so all the money raised goes direct to the charity.
I am also raising money for the Garden House Hospice who provided vital support and palliative care for mum (through a separate page - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nadia-ismail2) and hoping to hit a good target for each charity who do really amazing work.
