Story
FACT: Brain Tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer.
FACT: Despite this, Brain Tumour research receives just 2% of all cancer research funding.
FACT: That is simply not good enough.
The fine folks at The Brain Tumour Charity are desperately trying to change these statistics and we are going to help them.
HOW?
Working with the brilliant folks at The Race Hut (www.theracehut.com), we will be starting the virtual engines on all 16 of their professional racing car simulators for a 24 Hour race around the fearsome Nurburgring race track.
Professional racing drivers from some of the top racing teams in the UK will join rank amateurs and pro gamers alike to fight it out on the most challenging circuit in the world for 24 hours solid.
WHY?
Reading the statistics at the top of this page should be enough to spur anyone into action, however my personal involvement came via a revelation much closer to home. My brother was diagnosed with a stage 3-4 Brain Tumour exactly two years ago at the age of 36. This life changing revelation changed many things in all of our lives but the one constant throughout has been the desire to make a difference to the unacceptably low survival rates experienced by sufferers today.
WHAT Can you do?
1) Money. Please donate as much as you can afford, literally every penny counts. Thank you for making a difference.
2) Stuff. Donate to our charity auction. Tickets, gadgets, experiences, anything and everything that we can auction off to help raise funds.
3) Time. Get involved in the actual event! Come on down and join a team officially or just pop in and have a go in a car for a while. We would love to see you for moral support, delivering food/booze to the teams or just come and laugh at the lunacy of it all.
28th of February is the date to save, see you then and THANK YOU again for all of your help and support.
