Story
‘Let’s do something to raise some funds for Myton Hospice’
we said,
‘How about the 55km South Coast Ultra challenge?’ we said,
‘Surely it won’t be that difficult?’ we said,
Fast forward and we have signed up for The South Coast 55km
Ultra Challenge and the reality of what we have done is sinking in! In one day we aim to complete 55km of tough,
hilly coastal walking to raise money for The Myton Hospices.
The three of us all work at The Myton Hospices in the
Therapy Department and see first-hand every day the value of hospice care to patients, their families and carers. This past year has been an extremely difficult time for all charities and we like many others have suffered financially. We want to do our bit to help in these difficult times and want to get fit in the process!
As a physiotherapy team, you’d think that we were at the
peak of fitness and primed and ready for such a challenge – think again! In between our day job, the next 4 months are
going to be largely taken up by hill walking, endurance training and long distance walking and we will put updates on our page to let you all know how we are getting on.
During our time working at Myton, we have had the privilege
of meeting some incredible people and their amazing families. They are ourmotivation and we will be thinking of them every step of the way!
If any of you know anyone who has been diagnosed with an
incurable illness, you will know the value and importance of receiving the right
care throughout their journey. If you would like to sponsor us we would be
extremely grateful!
Yours
Nikki, Kath and Susan xxx
