Me and two friends are cycling to Birmingham from Cambridge on the 6th May (which is also my 20th birthday). We are aiming to take on the whole 130 miles in one day! I will be fund raising money for my Youth for Christ Year Out.
This year I have had the incredible opportunity to work with Cambridge and District Youth for Christ, as well as this I have had the privilege to disciple, support and have a 'super cool' time with the youth at St Andrew's Chesterton. This year I have had many opportunities from helping at Youth residential trips such as Cambridge and District Youth for Christ's very own Fort Rocky and Forge, to detached work such as going to Orchard Park skate park alongside Romsey Mill to reach out to the youth there. I have learned and grown so much thanks to this experience. It has been so tremendously encouraging to see how much the youth have developed and matured in their own journeys of faith and life, through our small groups of intimate and personal conversation where they can open up, to St Andrew's own YO CFC where the youth can rest after a tough week at school, I have seen how far they have come and feel so immensely privileged to have been, in any small way, apart of their lives.
Part of My Year is raising money to fund my training in youth work and for Youth for Christ who are dedicated to helping the youth of Cambridge and beyond. Knowing how hard life can be for a child or young person in the 21st century with increasing social pressures, it is Youth for Christ's aim to serve and help all young people, investing in them and nurturing them so they can live up to their own unique and amazing potential; helping them discover who they are.
Please support in whatever way you can, no amount is too small and anything you donate will make a huge difference. Please pray for us. Thank you.
