About Hearing Dogs For Deaf People:
We train hearing dogs who transform Deaf people’s lives. Hearing dogs have saved countless lives in their important role; fire alarms sounding at the dead of night, alerting them to the shouts of a loved one who is in peril. At the moment, we have almost 1,000 working hearing dog partnerships across the UK.
11 million people in the UK are deaf or hard of hearing. 1 in 6 of the UK adult population is affected by hearing loss. Deaf people are more likely to: have poor mental health - up to 50%, compared to 25% for the general population.
