Newcastle to Amersham Bike Ride · 16 July 2016

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We make it possible to live longer and better lives with myeloma. Through research and treatments, we find new ways to a cure. Together, we are the cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I first started thinking about this trip around October 2015 soon after I heard that an Ashlyn's school friend of my wife had been diagnosed with Myeloma. The thinking became a plan over Christmas when I also encouraged a friend to join me. The original plan had been to cycle using the same Raleigh racing bike that I rode to school on back in the 1980's. Unfortunately just too many parts fell off that during training to make this possible.  So with a new bike and a bit of training we will set off on July 16th, travelling along Hadrian's wall then down through the Lake District to Manchester and finally home to Amersham, with a special detour round Ashlyns School on the way.

A big thanks to Sarah and my Mum and Dad for acting as the support vehicles on the way down and for all those that have supported me.
