Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Everyone that knows me will know I had an amazing Grandma. Kind, caring, crazy and funny. She was full of life and did so many wonderful things. Helicopter flying lessons, horse riding, quad biking, you name it - she would try it!
Sadly my grandma passed away in October 2012. I miss her every day. Myself and my sister wanted to run Race for Life this year in her name but then we found out about the Colour Race. It's a 5k race the same as Race for Life but all of the participants wear white and paint is thrown at them at each km marker. It's advertised as the "happiest 5k on the planet". Happy is always how I will remember her so I couldn't think of a better race to enter to remember my beautiful, colourful grandma.
My grandma died following a diagnosis of liver cancer. So we're racing money for "Stand Up To Cancer" who are the official charity partner for the race. Our aim is to help more people keep their happy, colourful loved ones with them that little bit longer. My grandma was 91 when she died. She had a wonderful long life and I am grateful for every moment I got to spend with her. The race also happens to be a week after what should be her 92nd birthday. I realise 5k isn't particularly challenging but any donation you can make is greatly appreciated.
The run takes place on 21st July 2013 and I will accept donations until the end of July when I'll confirm how much has been raised.
Thank you
Sarah
