Fundraising for Tree of Hope
Bure Park Disability FC have an 8-year-old boy called Billy and after getting to know his parents Karen and Pete over the past 6 months, we have learnt that they have been fundraising for the past 3-4 years as they need to raise £85,000 to enable Billy to have an operation to give him a chance to achieve his dream of being able to walk just like his friends. They received an update last month informing them that Billy can have this operation next year and they are still £38,000 short of the required funds. As a result, Bure Park Disability are hosting a 12-hour charity football match to raise as much money as we can for ‘Billy’s Wish to Walk’. I am personally playing for the whole 12 hours, and we are hoping to get the support of as many other teams, groups, businesses, and individuals in the football and local communities, as I believe if we are all able to contribute in some way, we can help Billy’s dream become a reality to be able to walk and play football just like his friends.
