Story
Thank you for for visiting my fundraising page!
After watching David Attenborough's 7 Worlds 1 Planet I decided I want to do something to help protect the rainforest in Borneo - the home and habitat of the Orangutan.
Watching the programme, I was upset and shocked to see how they are being made homeless and how desperately they try to stay in their territories, all for some palm oil!
Since New Year's Day this year, I have been walking and cycling the distance between the UK and Borneo - that's 7,300 miles. I want to finish on New Year's Eve, which means I have to cover an average of 20 miles a day! I am doing most of the miles by myself at the moment but I have been given loads of support from friends and family keeping me company on rides.
In August I did a really hard three-day ride that was 220 miles long. We camped rode through Storm Ellen, which was wet, windy and really, really hard work! Since then I have been inside on the turbo trainer a lot, which is also really hard work - and boring!!
I am raising money for the Orangutan Foundation, who protect Borneo's orangutans and their habitat. I want to raise as much as possible to sponsor as many acres of rainforest as possible. £2 saves one acre and everything living within it.
If you can support me, please, please, give anything that you can - it doesn't matter how much. Thank you, thank you!
Thank you @nomifish for letting me use your amazing photo from your trip to Borneo!!
