Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
For unpaid carers, the Coronavirus emergency has made an already difficult situation far, far worse.
So on Sunday 26th April St Johns Road community will be coming together to run the London Marathon on our street. Each household will run part of the 26.2 mile run. All in aid of Carers’ Resource.
Carers' Resource exists to support unpaid carers. They provide information, advice and support to carers, to the people they care for and to professionals who work with them. Carers’ Resource is an independent, award-winning Yorkshire charity which is open to
everyone and offers emotional and practical help to enable carers to cope.
Anyone could be a carer – a 15-year-old girl looking after a parent with an alcohol problem, a 40-year-old man caring for his partner who has terminal cancer, or an 80-year-old woman looking after her husband who has Alzheimer's disease.
Although for many carers, caring can have positive and rewarding aspects, there are lots of reasons why caring can also leave you needing support.
Caring can have an impact on many aspects of your life and that's why we are running 26.2 miles on Sunday 26th April 2020.
As the charity has grown and developed, they have taken on other roles, too. For example, they help people after they return home from hospital, and provide assistance in people’s own homes through our dedicated Care@ service. So please support Carers’ Resource as every penny counts.
There are over 7 million people in the UK who provide unpaid care for a family member or friend.
Even before the Coronavirus crisis started, hundreds of thousands of carers across the UK were experiencing severe problems of isolation and ill-health. Please support our unpaid carers.
