My 2.6 Challenge: hand-writing 26+ letters to the elderly

The 2.6 Challenge · 26 April 2020 ·
Between 21-26 April 2020, I am hand-writing 26+ letters to elderly people living in Southampton - people that are necessarily self-isolated and alone at home, and may be affected by loneliness at this challenging time.
I'm writing each letter individually, to elderly and vulnerable adults in Southampton. The people I'm writing to are the charity's care-meals customers, who continue to receive hot meals every working day, despite the significant challenges affecting City Catering during the COVID-19 pandemic.
My hope in this challenging time is that by sending a hand-written letter to 26+ elderly people, I might just brighten their day for a brief time, and remind them that we all care how they're doing, and want them to stay well.
I'm raising money for City Catering because the work this charity does is vital: delivery of a hot meal when you're feeling low on energy, are unable to cook or get out and about, is surely something we want our older generations to be able to rely upon.
Care meals, delivered to each customer's home, are a lifeline, and a daily support that for many is their main 'visit' for the day. And it's no longer government funded or a statutory service.
It's not ok with me - or City Catering - that anyone goes hungry. Please support my 2.6 challenge and donate, so that this service can keep going, whatever the 'weather'.
Your donations will help ensure that City Catering is able to continue serving its vital care-meals service across Southampton. Thank you!
