Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Making Waves Film Festival JustGiving page.

We invite you to donate directly to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Aid fund to help us help those who are struggling with the unfolding crisis in the Ukraine by purchasing a ticket for our event at No6 Cinema at 7-10 pm on Friday 22nd April.

To buy a ticket for this event please make a donation of what you can afford to this page - ONE DONATION EQUALS ONE TICKET - we recommendof £10 or more.

Once your donation has gone through, tick the box alongside “I'm happy to be contacted by <..>". Justgiving can then share your contact details with us and we can send you a ticket.

For this fundraising event, MWFF & The Front Room have invited a selected mix of spoken word artists, musicians, animators, and filmmakers to respond to the theme of Home. For us, HOME is a place of shelter, security for family and nourishment, something we would like to celebrate and share with you.

Expect an eclectic mixture of live cinema, animation, spoken word, and music from the contributing artists including:

  • Spoken word with Steve Tasane

  • Live animation with Matt Smith and Rusty Sheriff

  • Choral sounds with Janet Ayers (and guests)

  • India Kim presents new work in animation

  • An audiovisual journey with The Speech Painter

  • A selection of short films by Ukrainian filmmakers

We ask that you give as much as you can and in return, we will be putting on a fantastic show by local artists and creatives at No6 Cinema, 7-10 pm on Friday 23rd April.

Please give generously and help us achieve our target!
