Story
On 17th March 2020, the world lost a great man. A man that I could proudly call my grandad. Raymond Garratt, he suffered from dementia in the final years of his life. Nobody really understands dementia until you are forced to live through it. I’m doing a 21mile walk around the guild wheel on 20th March 2021, in the memory of not only my grandad but his brother Peter. I want to raise money for this charity to hopefully one day we can beat this awful disease.
Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia. That's the equivalent of around 225,000 people every year. By taking part in Memory Walk you are helping us walk for a dementia free future and help people affected by dementia.Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money, saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Let's take on dementia together!
