Story
We are walking for my grandmother Vi Willmott, Granny Vi or Grandmama as she liked to be called who passed away in 2018 and all other dementia sufferers and their families.
We will be walking over to her old house in Otford, Kent (approximately a 4 mile round trip) where she lived for most of her adult life, gave birth to her 5 children and bought up her family. She learnt to drive during the war and apparently never took an official driving test and then worked as a midwife and district nurse. In her later years she enjoyed playing bowls, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Please give what you can to support the Alzheimers Society, a charity very close to my heart. A few ways your money will help is to go towards supporting research into finding a cure, improving quality of life for people living with dementia and their families and local social support groups and activities.
Many thanks.
Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia. That's the equivalent of around 225,000 people every year. By taking part in Memory Walk you are helping us walk for a dementia free future and help people affected by dementia. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money, saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Let's take on dementia together!
