Story
Some of you who know me will know I lost my mum in May this year, she was in a care home as she had alzheimers. Due to covid I hadn't seen my mum since March 2020 & I missed her very much. I spoke to her on the phone but mum didn't understand the concept of talking on a phone, nor could she understand video calling.
On the 6th May I rang to see how mum was, the carers at the home told me that she had covid, within 1 week mum was gone. I was lucky to have my husband with me who has supported me since mum was taken.
I needed to say goodbye so I arranged to go to Ross on Wye & again, my husband took me as I couldn't have gone on my own.
These 3 walks are important to me for 2 reasons, the first is in memory of my wonderful mum who I miss vey much every day & the second is to raise money for research to try to discover a cure for this cruel , terrible, heartbreaking disease.
Everyone has been or is affected by this disease, whether it be a family member or a friend, to lose someone to alzheimers is just cruel & yes, you do lose them twice. Please help me to support the Alzheimers Society & get the money they so desperately need so eventually, noone else will have to go through the heartbreak.
Thank you
