Story
If you know us, you probably know our story, so suffice to say that we're off again on 12th October for another walk around Southsea to raise much needed funds for Alzheimer's Society, continuing in Mum's campaigning footsteps.
Mum died on 26th August, so after a very long brave fight, she's now at peace and this year we'll be walking in her memory. As a family we're so grateful for all the support that friends and family have provided over the last 11 years since Mum's diagnosis and particularly over recent weeks. We know that many of you have already made generous donations to the Society, but if you haven't already had an opportunity and would still like to, we'd be so grateful for your support. Or if you are free on the 12th October, come and join us for the walk.
Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there.
Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia. Even a pound helps. No gift is too small. Thank you! x
