Memory Walk
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

Rosie's Ramblers are walking in memory of a very special Mum and Gran - Rose Carlisle. She developed lewy body dementia but despite this was always a positive and happy person and had a smile for everyone.

Throughout her life, she had many jobs including a nurse in the Women's Air Force, a pub landlady and a cake shop manageress. She loved to play darts and was chairman of her local ladies league before she came too poorly to continue.

Her family were everything to her and she loved receiving visits from everyone. She had a heart of gold and her door was always open.

She was married to Jack for 64 years and lived with him until sadly the dementia meant that she needed to go into a care home. She had always been the life and soul of a party and the carers at the home loved her being there as she was a real character.

On the 1st August 2015, she sadly passed away.

She is missed lots and remembered often.

Please help us to raise money for the research of dementia and to help others with this disease.

Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
