Welcome to my page. I have never done a sponsered anything before! But i want to do This memory walk for The Alzheimers Society because Dementia is a cause close to my heart. I will walk it for all those living with all types of dementia. But personal to me ,my memory walk will be for a special lady called Doris . As a carer i have known and cared for people with Dementia, but on a more personal level Doris is someone i took into my heart as a friend only in recent months. Doris suffers with vascular dementia, i have seen first hand how it has robbed her of her life and how it effects her loving Daughter and son. Dementia is a cruel disease and heartbreaking for sufferer's loved ones.
I may not be able to raise alot of money, but however large or small, this walk is important to me , just as Doris and her daughter are to me. I will be proud to partake in this memory walk for them.
Half the money i raise will go to THE ALZHEIMERS SOCIETY and the other half will go to DEMENTIA UK The sole focus at Dementia Uk is to provide Admiral nurses, who give practical and emotional care and support for family carers, as well as people with dementia
I don't know tons of people, so i hope i can raise as much money as i can.

Around 225,000 people develop dementia every – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it’s the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
