Story
I would love you to join us for our 'Music for Meningitis' benefit concert on 29th June, at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath (click poster image for details!).
However, I understand that some of you may be unable to attend, so I set up this page to enable you to be a part of raising as much money as possible for the Meningitis Research Foundation - wherever you are in the world! Your donation really can make a difference in helping to save the thousands of lives affected by this devastating disease every year.
In March 2007, I woke to find my Mum, Carol, in agony. She was rushed to hospital where she was later diagnosed with Meningitis B, Septicemia and Pneumonia and put on a life - support machine as she fought to survive.
Amazingly, she returned home after just ten days and went on to make a full recovery - something that doctors told us would never have been possible had I not called an ambulance when I did so she could receive vital antibiotics. Infact, statistics show that 1 in 4 survivors affected by Meningococcal bacteria are left with syptoms that reduce quality of life, including permanent brain damage and loss of limbs.
Carol says: "I am very grateful for my health and feel that the fifth anniversary since my recovery is the perfect time to celebrate life and music while raising awareness of Meningitis and the work of the MRF."
Thank you so much for your support!
