Story
As many of you will know, I have a blood/bone cancer known as Myeloma
Since diagnosis, I have been through chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. In total this took about 12 months from July 2009 including a 3 month ‘recovery’ period. I am pleased to say that following this, I am currently enjoying good health.
I therefore have had a great deal out of our NHS, as well as the Edinburgh based charity Myeloma UK. I would like to give something back.
While there is no cure for myeloma, research has nevertheless made great strides in recent times to improve patients’ prognoses as well as continuing with the search for a cure. This is where Myeloma UK comes in, and I propose to help in raising funds for this worthwhile charity by abseiling off the Forth Rail Bridge.
This organised event takes place on Sunday 8 May and I would be very grateful for your support.
