Great Weston Ride · 15 July 2012 ·
Hello, Andy and I have decided to take part in the Great Weston Ride in order to raise money for the Great Weston Air Ambulance. The ride is 56(!) miles from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare via the Mendips and the Somerset levels. As we are both only used to cycling small distances, this is going to be quite a challenge for us!
We’ve decided to raise money for the air ambulance as they came to the much needed assistance of our close friends and also our neighbour. Any money raised allows them to continue giving critical care to those in need and will be greatly appreciated.
Great Western Air Ambulance is funded entirely through voluntary donations and needs to raise in excess of £1 million a year to cover the cost of operating seven days a week across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. It is estimated that 1 in 5 critical care patients would not have survived without their help.
