Can you help LIGHT UP PORTREE? Highland Council no longer has a dedicated budget to provide Christmas trees and lights. Communities must now fund their own. A group of residents have come together, joining forces with the Portree and Braes Community Trust and now need your help to ensure that Portree has Christmas lights this year and for many years to come. This requires a lot of fundraising and community spirit. Initial costs will be high. The group needs around £10,000 to buy a tree and street lights but hope these will light up our Christmases for many years to come. Some of the lights may be used to brighten the village all year round. Please donate if you can.
