Story
I don’t know about you, but I seem to hear more and more stories of people around me being affected by the evil disease that is cancer. It’s not just grandparents anymore, its parents, aunts, uncles, friends, and devastatingly children. So when 2 of my wonderful clients asked me to join them in the Coastal Walk for Macmillan I definitely thought long and hard about if I could haul my dodgy knee that far, and if I had the time totrain.... but I agreed, so here we are.
After spreading the word around the playground to my fellow Mums, this is us, an awesome team of 10! Some incredible members of the team are cancer survivors, some have lost family members and friends, and some are currently supporting their nearest and dearest through cancer treatment. We are all in the knowledge that with the statistics as they are, we or those important to us will need the help of Macmillian in the future. So we come together to raise as much as we can for a cause very close to us.
This 26 mile journey will definitely not be a walk in the park for us, we’re all the wrong side of 40, with back problems, arthritic toes and a whole host of other ailments, but with each other’s support I know we’ll all make it round.
We know times are hard financially but if you could spare a few pounds to sponsor us, we promise to walk as fast as our arthritic toes will carry us!
