Between the 2nd October 2011 and the end of March 2012 Holly Dolan, Jill Hazleton, Chris Gale and I (Katherine Penny) will be taking part in the following events for Cancer Research... 

- Basingstoke Half Marathon  (2nd October 2011)

- Christchurch Christmas 10 Km Run  (11th December 2011) 

- Brighton Half Marathon on (19th February 2012)

- Bath Half Marathon (date 2012 tbc)

On the 14th February 2011 my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. She recieved an 18 week course of chemotherapy. Then on the 22nd July she had a mastectomy followed by 15 sessions of radiotherapy. We are running 73 Km in honour of her 73rd Birthday (December 2011).

Mummy Penny is a Mum of five and Grandma of nine. She was born during World War II and can remember rationing and the flying bombs over Gravesend. She loves fish & chips, cooks the best Sunday Roasts and enjoys a sweet sherry. She is small, lovely, brilliant and brave, and for all these reasons and several hundred more we will be running each of these races for her and all the other lovely brilliant and brave people who have/had cancer.
