Story
My name is Aidan Mulvey and the care at Dt Georges hospital is outstanding, but their facilities are not.
My Granny and Grandad were cared for at St George's when they had cancer. The staff that treated them were amazing and they always received outstanding care. Unfortunately my Grandparents did not survive but they were well looked after when they needed it most.
My brother and I and my cousins were born at St George's and we have had to visit the hospital a few times!! Dylan even had to visit A&E the week after his abseil last year!!
Being the local hospital they look after my teammates and many other members of Battersea Ironsides Rugby Club when they are injured.
The hospital is one of the Club's chosen charities so this year we are back and will be raising funds for the St George's Hospital Charity - Time for a change Appeal.
Last year I had to watch Dylan complete the abseil on his own because I was too young but this year we will do it together and I cant wait.
What is even better is we will be abseiling with 50 members of the rugby club and some special guests to take part too so it is going to be a very exciting day.
With your help, we can help contribute to raising £5m by 2024 to help transform children's services at one of the busiest hospitals in the country.
Your sponsorship will help us to contribute towards the cost of:
- Expanding our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, adding four more beds and space for families
- Transforming our tired children's wards
- Providing better facilities for our staff, so they can feel proud of where they work
The patients, families and staff deserve so much better.
Help us to transform Children's Services at St George's.
