MS Week 2011 will focus on research; a fundamental, multi-million pound area of work for the Society and a primary concern for people affected by MS. Specifically, we’ll launch the MS Register.
The theme of MS Week is
putting MS on the map.
This is because the MS Register aims to build a map of MS in the UK and how it impacts on peoples’ lives.
This much more accurate information could:
- inform pharmaceutical companies about where to focus their drugs research
- give service providers a much clearer idea about existing and unmet need
- arm the MS Society with a greater depth of knowledge with which to lobby the Government and policy makers on behalf of people with MS.
This will be the world’s first register - in any condition - that brings together information submitted by people themselves and clinical data provided by neurologists to develop a true picture of the impact of MS.
Through the MS Register the MS Society is putting MS on the map during MS Week. Our aim is to map every person with MS in the UK.
But we can’t do this on our own. We need your help to turn this vision into a reality.
Together we can put MS on the map.
