Story
Last year both my dad and uncle were diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily for us both were caught early, however my dad had to get his prostate removed. He is now undertaking radio therapy and a course drug, which after he is expected to recover from. I feel it is important to do my bit so for every day of September I will be walking/running 11000 steps.
“Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and each year more than 11,000 men die from the disease. Given the statistics, I'm scrapping the 10,000 step challenge and instead walking 11,000 steps a day throughout the month of September. The impact of the coronavirus crisis means that life-saving research is at risk. Men have never needed your support more to protect research into better tests and treatments to stop prostate cancer being a killer.“
