Story
5 Years Mile-stone anniversary!!!
As some of you may or may not know, In 2008 when I was 16, I was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anaemia; Due to an immune system fuck up, my white cells started to attack my bone marrow and so my body completely stopped producing blood...
After some treatment in 2008, I went into remission but unfortunately during uni the disease relapsed and in 2010 I had to have a bone marrow transplant in the Summer. This involved an intense course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to completely destroy my bodies immune system to make way for a nice new and healthy one!
Unfortunately, this transplant failed and I had to have another one in the winter of 2010 with even stronger chemo (Just to make sure), so it's fair to say my body took a right battering!
The bone marrow from the two transplants came from 2x completely random and selfless people who have literally saved my life. Putting it bluntly... Without them, It's safe to say I'd be 6ft under right now.
So I'm raising money to help support Anthony Nolan and their mission in raising awareness to help people in need of life-saving treatment find their donor!
