Story
We are a group of students (Filipa, Syaza, Aidana, Isha, Luca and Shreena), studying at the University of Warwick, going to teach English and Maths for four weeks to children in Mtwara, Tanzania.
We all have the privilege of having such a phenomenal tertiary education here and we strive to use this to make a difference in the lives of not only the children, but also the teachers and the community at large.
We hope that through teaching we can try and unlock the undiscovered potential of these students as we believe that education has a transformative effect on one's future and could potentially reverse the inequality presiding in the world that we currently live in.
Warwick in Africa is a unique program because it provides sustainable change to the schools it works with by not only assisting the children with the student volunteers but also by providing the teachers with crucial professional development. Thus, improving the long-term educational equality in Mtwara.
Even just a £10 donation can provide schooling for a child for a whole month. Any donation is highly appreciated so that these students can get the education that they deserve.
