Story
Jo and I will be joining our friends Tim, Jen and Lisa in climbing Mt Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776m (12,389ft) and an active volcano, on 23rd/24th July.
Just over six years ago, Tim became seriously ill with stage 4B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After undergoing six months of chemotherapy he was lucky to end up in remission. The hospital he was treated at was fortunate enough to have a dedicated nurse from the Lymphoma Association, who provided him with a great deal of useful information and support.
Now Tim has been given the all clear he has chosen to re-visit a country he and I both love in order to take on a challenge and raise funds for the charity that helped him so much. When he mentioned this idea over a year ago I immediately said I’d join him, so here we are!
We will trek up Mount Fuji, from the Kawaguchiko 5th station, hopefully catching the sunset and sunrise. We'll also be taking in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo whilst over there.
Please donate, so that the Lymphoma Association can carry on with their excellent work!
