Ms Lankester runs!

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Dear supporters,
As you know the London marathon has been postponed twice now. Instead of ‘losing’ my training I decided to join the virtual marathon team. On Sunday 4th October I will run 26.2 miles around my local area. If you’d like to donate, anything you can spare will be hugely appreciated. Due to the current circumstances, we are unable to share sports equipment between classes anymore. Any money raised would go to purchasing sports equipment for all classes - the children will be so happy.
Thank you for all your support so far. It is extremely touching.
Now for 26.2 miles of running!
Hello everyone and welcome to my fundraising page!
In December 2019, the London Marathon events team contacted the school I work in offering a chance for anyone involved in a school to gain a place to run 26.2 miles across this wonderful city. Somehow, I was chosen! It is truly daunting, exciting and quite amazing to be given the opportunity to run. The students have been an incredible support team already, running the Daily Mile to get themselves more active, bringing in newspaper articles for me to read about running and bearing with me when I am aching from the long training runs!
However, I can't do this alone and running such a distance lends itself to raising some money for our wonderful school community. My goal is to raise a bit of cash to be able to buy new sporting equipment for our school and raise money for Mvambo school in Zimbabwe, a school Father Richard (our parish priest) is closely linked to.
A massive THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart (and sore knees!) for all your help and support, it is greatly appreciated. Now to tick off 26.2 of that 30 before 30 list!
