Story
We are an under 12s boys football team, part of MSB Woolton in Liverpool. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we, as many other teams, cannot get together to train or play matches and I know the boys are missing this both socially to catch up with their friends and playing and being part of a team. Due to social distancing we cannot get together to do this but to help keep the contact up between them all and to keep their fitness levels up, we are completing an Individual charity run from Liverpool Simpson’s training ground to our namesake St Pauli in Hamburg which is the equivalent of 800 miles. The boys from the team, coaches and parents are all joining in. Each runner will run 40 miles over the shortest period that suits them but we aim to complete this within a month. All monies raised will go to Liverpool Marie Curie.
At the Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool, we give expert care to people with a terminal illness, and their loved ones every day of the year. Our hospice team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and many more, and is supported by local people who freely volunteer their time and energy to help us run the hospice. As well as being a place where people can stay to get the expert care they need in a friendly and homely setting, we also support people visiting with clinics and therapies. These include yoga, exercise classes and relaxation. People using the day unit can also get together over a freshly cooked lunch from our chefs.Relatives and friends can visit any time of the day or night, and stay with their loved ones if they wish to. We need to raise £6,397 per day to run the hospice, so every penny counts. Thank you for helping to make sure more people with a terminal illness in in Liverpool, get the care and support they need.
