Story
I am raising money for Macmillan in memory of my father-in-law Danny McCallum, George Seymour (my best friend's Dad), and a friend who would have been 40 in April had she lived.
Macmillan do amazing work for patients and their families by providing information on the disease and available treatments, practical advice on financial matters when the sick pay runs out, offering support nurses round the clock and funding chemotherapy centres like the excellent facility at UCLH.
Undertaking the London Marathon is no small challenge for anyone, but having faced life threatening illness myself a couple of years ago ultimately losing a kidney as a result in 2012, it's a bit more of a challenge for me. I am lucky enough to have made a good recovery, with just a couple of lingering niggles, but I do know what it's like when the sick pay runs out, and you are living off one wage and there's still bills to pay, children to feed and clothe and hospital treatment to have.
Any small amount you can donate to Macmillan will help provide support for cancer patients and their families at a time when they need it most.
Thank you so much
