Story
On 26th July 2015 I will be shaving my head at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in front of 700 Progress Wrestling fans. On the day I'll be collecting money in a bucket, to go together with the hair, to pay for the Little Princesses charity who will turn it into a beautiful wig (or two!) for little girls who've lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
But this page is for all of you who won't be there. After thinking long and hard I decided upon the Macmillan cancer charity as my chosen charity. The hair shaving is obviously symbolic and sadly some people don't have the choice. I wanted to do something completely selfless, a symbol of solidarity and yet something deemed so drastic that it'd make people want to donate as much as they can.
The most important reason I wanted to raise money for Macmillan however would be in remembrance of my late Mother-in-law, Jan Smallman. A beautiful, kind, funny, wonderful woman who was taken from her family far too soon. Devastated as I was that I didn't get to know her longer, I get the feeling that anybody who met her likely felt the same way, regardless how little or long they knew her. She was just that kind of lady. The care and compassion the nurses gave her and her family in her final days was incredible, the work that all the nurses do is fantastic and I feel they're a particularly worthy cause. So thank you all in advance for your support. Now let's smash that target!
