Story

Who am I:

Hey everyone! My name is Tristan Lawrence and I am a current senior at La Salle High School. I was born in Chelan, Washington, but moved to Yakima when I was in kindergarten. Throughout my four years of high school, I have been blessed with the opportunity to play a wide variety of sports, including: Lacrosse, football, basketball, cross country, and tennis. I plan to attend Dominican University of California to pursue my athletic career with Lacrosse.  I have served my community and previous school (St. Joseph Marquette) by participating in the little brother program which partners high school students with middle school students to develop a relationship with them. I aim to serve my community by giving back through the Red Cross Blood Drive and by participating in service projects through Yakima Valley Lacrosse.

What am I doing:

I am participating in a program supporting The Memorial Foundations YouthWorks program to raise money and awareness for local children. Within this program, there are multiple organizations in which I am supporting, like Children’s Village.

Why I am fundraising:

My family has received numerous services from Children’s village that have helped my cousins with dental and developmental screening, as well as speech therapy. Children’s village has given irreplaceable help to my family, which I am extremely grateful for. Over the past year, most specifically last summer, I spent countless hours helping my cousin, Kyle Guerra. Kyle has received similar services that Children’s center provides and I am honored to have the ability to take him to school, pick him up from school, and spend time with him until he is taken home for the day.

Without this opportunity in my life, I believe I would not be the empathetic and caring person I am today. I want to give back to Children’s Village for the love and support they have given my family no matter what.

The funds received are given directly to this program in helping support the children in the Yakima valley. I can only hope that you will see the impact this cause has on families all around us as I do. Any donation you can provide helps. Thank you for your interest in this cause and please share this page with others so they can have the opportunity to donate too.
