I have always felt that, as a Gay man, activist, writer, journalist and teacher, I have a responsibility for young generations.
I want to give a clear message to young people: 'You can be whoever you want to be despite what society is expecting from you. We are all different and we all bring a bit of colour into this world and we need to make sure that our own individual one shines as much as possible. There is no place for shame or fear, all we need is love, respect and solidarity among each others'.
My chosen charity is: PIETA HOUSE because every single life is worth it, beautiful and important!
I do not want to hear or see anymore that helicopter flying over our beautiful river. There has to be support for whoever needs it and we all need to become aware that we all play an important role in our society; it is never someone else's job, it is our duty to take care of each other, be kind to people, offer a good word to them, make them feel happy.
I would like to raise awareness on these issues during my year being Mr Gay Limerick 2016/17.
I would like to raise as much as possible for Pieta House and I also would like to work with the institutions to come up with an effective plan to eradicate homo/transphobic bullying in schools.
The fight is on!
