Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Gareth said he was planning on doing the Brave the Shave a few weeks ago in memory of my brother Martin. Martin was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma (cancer in both eyes) when he was 3 and sadly passed away just 3 days before his 7th birthday in 1994. Until we became parents Gareth and I couldn't come anywhere close to comprehending how painful losing Martin must have been for my parents, incredibly I never ever felt the enormity of the grief I know now they must have been feeling. Thinking about Martin, my parents and my childhood i had a moment of madness I told Gareth I would join him!
The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust work really hard to make children with retinoblastoma and their families lives easier at what is a very scary and difficult time. They research to find new and better treatments to keep more children with their families. Callum and I regularly had our eyes tested as young children and since having Luna her eyes have also been tested. Hospital was always a fun place for me as a child and that was down to the charities staff. Gareth and I would love to be able to help a little bit towards families being kept together forever, no parent should ever have to bury their child.
We would love for you to help us on our way, every penny helps :)
Thank you millions,
Mr & Mrs Ward xxxx
