After injury and a lot of gnashing of teeth a decision was made by Lucy and Al to abort Al's solo attempt in July and do a 2 person relay instead. In a way it can be psychologically harder because you swim an hour in and an hour out until you reach France. Getting back into the water hour after hour can be one of the hardest aspects - let alone the actual process of swimming through the busiest shipping lanes in the world and possible Force 7 winds and white horse tipped waves.
