Story
In 2020 the whole world was turned upside because of COVID 19. We were all in lockdown, missing our friends, our family, our everyday routines and normality. We were forced to discover different coping mechanisms to deal with homeschooling, working remotely and all the uncertainty the pandemic brought about.
At the same time all this was going on, our friend Mark’s health was rapidly deteriorating having been diagnosed with a brain tumour two years earlier. On top of all the pressures of working and motherhood, Sharna was now also worrying and caring for Mark.
One of the ways that helped her through this period was running. So she ran at every opportunity and we (virtually) ran with her. It started with the couch to 5k app and we kept going.
Our running Club was born.
On September 5th, we will not only see each other in person for the first time in months, we will also run together. Mark sadly passed away on May 30th 2020 so we are taking part in the
Cancer Research UK London Summer Run in his memory.
We are running for Mark and for everyone who has lost someone too soon, for everyone still fighting and hoping. We are running to raise vital funds for Cancer Research. Please help us reach our Fundraising target and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Anything
you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you x
