Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
It gives me great privilege to announce that I will be running the London Marathon 2023 for two brilliant mental health charities, with one of them being Mind.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. One in four people in the UK is staggering and quite scary when you think about it.
And Mind also believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. And I couldn’t agree more. No one should ever have to suffer in silence.
By running the London Marathon for Mind, I want to be able to play a small part in helping to break the stigma around mental health and get people talking and open up about their feelings. The more we can do that and support each other, the better. It really is ok to be not ok and admit it. And if you are feeling like that, just remember that you are not on your own.
Whether it be a family member, friend, you trust, or a mental health charity like Mind, there is someone out there who will listen and support you.
To give you an idea of the impact Mind has had between 2021-2022:
· Mind responded to over 118,000 queries to their support and information helplines
· Mind’s mental health information was accessed 21.4m times
· Mind reached over 1.8m employees through their workplace wellbeing programmes
And here is the difference your donations can make:
£5 could help put Mind’s information in local GP surgeries,
helping people to make the crucial first step of asking their doctor for
support.
£15 can help run Mind’s online peer support community Side By
Side, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
£30 can help Mind’s Infoline answer calls, giving people
vital support.
£100 could pay the cost of one of Mind’s Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day.
It will be my second London Marathon and my 12th marathon overall. I’m truly humbled to be running for an incredible charity.
We are in this together to help each other with our mental
health.
So please give what you can to Mind to ensure they can continue to carry out their life-saving work and to provide immediate support
to people suffering.
Thank you.
