“A 3 day 250 mile cycle from London to Paris, appealing for project Forest Gate Masjid rebuild. Please help this great cause in bringing together a community hub for this and future generations”
The Forest Gate Masjid was founded back in 1992. Among the founders was my late father Mokaddas Ali. Along with our elders Khan Saab, Salik Chowdhury, Giash Uddin, Muklisur Rahman and Abdur Rokib and other committee members started what we know as the Forest Gate Mosque and Imam Zakariya Academy. The masjid has been providing the local muslim community with the five daily prayers, Jumuah prayer, Eid prayer, Taraweeh prayers and Maktab. It also runs various Islamic Courses such as Alimyah and Hifz. This masjid has helped the community to come together from all back grounds and will serve the community for generations to come. I believe that this masjid has helped in a number of ways and has the potential to help our future generations be better muslims and human beings.
