Story
The last year has been flat, frustrating and full of fear for so many people and now more than ever we need be aware of peoples mental health.
In 2019 5,691 men and women took their own lives after losing their battle and that is 5,691 people too many. This number equates to 474 people per month. There is also a severe mental health crisis within the UK male population with three-quarters of suicides being amongst men, resulting in an estimated 84 men committing suicide each week.
In order to raise awareness to these eye-watering statistics and encourage people to open up about their mental health battles this group will Move it for Mental Health during April 2021 and complete a variety of movement challenges. Some will run 84km throughout the month, some will complete 474 burpees per week and some will complete 84km of cycling per week.
This group will be working with and raising money for Mental health UK. This organisation brings the knowledge of 50 years worth of 4 national charities together in order to support people experiencing poor mental health.
