Story
Laura and Abby will be taking on the challenge of climbing MOUNT KILIMANJARO from 19th September 2019.
With a 50% success rate and eight gruelling days of trekking through four climatic zones, this truly is the challenge of a lifetime. This will be both physically and mentally exhausting, as we battle the -27 degree temperatures and extreme altitude of 6000 metres. Please note that we’ll be funding the trek ourselves, so 100% of all donations will go straight to The Lily Foundation.
We're also holding our BIG CORNISH RAFFLE with over £3000 worth of prizes up for grabs. To enter, simply write “RAFFLE” alongside your name or message with the amount you have donated. Full list of prizes in our updates below!
This one’s for you Maisie 💛 #mountainsformaisie

Abby’s story...
Maisie Keverne only ever knew love. My beautiful niece was born on a hot sunny day in May – 5 pounds and 9 ounces of perfection! At just two weeks old, she survived sepsis and emergency heart surgery. Then in September our family received the worst news imaginable: due to a metabolic heart condition, she would not live for very long.
We had two more months making the most of every moment with her, creating memories and giving her as much love as possible. On the morning after she died, my brother Ben said that I must see and do all that she never had the time to. These brave words are the driving force behind ‘Miles & Mountains for Maisie.’
We welcomed 2019 by climbing Tregonning Hill on New Year’s Day, remembering the wonderful family day we all shared when we did the same with Maisie only three months before. It all felt very poignant. And so I’ll continue to climb every peak - and run many miles - ending this year attempting to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
I am honoured to be Maisie’s auntie. Always and forever. I would love to support Ben and Hannah by raising as much awareness and donations as I can. They truly are the strongest people I know! 2018 was the year of Maisie. And 2019 is the year of fundraising.
This is all for you Maisie - and our everlasting love for you. I’ll be thinking of you every step of the way.
Thank you for reading 💛

Mitochondrial Disease is a genetic condition that prevents cells in the body from producing enough energy to survive. It can affect any part of the body; for Maisie it was her hearing loss and her enlarged heart. It is too late for her but hopefully with more leading medical research, other beautiful babies and children won’t have to die so tragically young.
Every day in the UK, a baby is born that will develop Mitochondrial Disease. It is currently incurable and can strike any person at any time of life. The Lily Foundation is working tirelessly to fight Mito - fighting to find a cure and fighting for hope.
