Hunger is a complex, but solvable problem. Currently, 821 million people are chronically undernourished. The world produces more than enough food to feed every person on the planet, and yet more than 3 billion tons of food is lost or wasted. Food banks are local, community-based organizations that rescue food that would otherwise be wasted, and with the help of thousands of agencies, serve as a powerful solution that helps communities ensure that every person facing hunger can access a nutritious meal.
