Fight Night 2017 For The Lily Foundation · 27 April 2017 ·
Hi
On 27th April I'll step into the boxing ring to fight my colleague and mate Mark Alford in the 'headline' bout of 'Fight Night V - The Gloves Are On'.
After weeks of pretty brutal training and sparring, we're going toe to toe over three rounds of boxing in front of a sold out Clapham Grand.
I've never previously hit anyone in my life (honest) and after saying no last year, this time round I couldn't resist. After all, what better way to raise money for charity than punching your mate in the head?!!
And he's from Yorkshire...
None of this is to do with my midlife crisis, but everything to do with playing my bit in raising funds for the incredible Lily Foundation.
And this is where I'd love your help.
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. Did you know every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.
If you're able to help and donate, I'd be really grateful. But more importantly, so would the guys at the Lily Foundation, who hopefully one day, will help find a cure for this awful disease.
