As you may or may not know, Mum was diagnosed last year with stage 3 peritoneal cancer.
Peritoneal cancer is a rare and aggressive cancer that develops in the peritoneum, a thin, delicate sheet that lines the inside wall of the abdomen and covers many of the internal organs.
Over the last year and a half, she has undergone surgery and completed countless chemotheraphy sessions to battle this horriffic illness however her determination and strength of will have never faltered. Words cannot describe just how incredibly proud we all are of her and the bravery that she has shown in the face of such a scary illness is an inspiration to all her friends and family.
Now we want to help give something back to those who have given, and continue to provide, so much help and support to Mum throughout her illness. As such, we're taking part in this years Baker Hughes 10k run in Aberdeen and hope to raise as much money as we can for the chemotherapy clinic at the Alexandria Unit in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.
