We provide care at the hospice and at home to children in the Thames Valley region

Story

As a family we are participating in fundraising activities to say thank you to Helen House for caring for Patrick since 2011. With their support and medical guidance we have been able to look after Patrick at home, where we all feel happiest. Helen House offers respite, family stays, sibling group activities, counselling and palliative care for terminally ill children and their families. Helen House has given us the opportunity and space to create special memories to treasure during the most difficult of times. Patrick turned 19 on the 30th September 2019. We enjoyed our last stay at Helen House two weeks before his birthday. Douglas House, offered respite for young adults (19-35 ) but closed in July 2018 due to a lack of funding. This is why we felt it was so important to raise funds to ensure Helen House remains open and continues to care for children like Patrick and families like ours.
