Story
In October 2021, 14 intrepid Morrison's Academy pupils, all aged 13-15 years old and 4 staff are undertaking a journey of a lifetime in the first Morrison's Academy Across Scotland Challenge.
Travelling by foot, bike and kayak they will traverse Scotland going from the Island of Mull on the west coast to Spey Bay on the North Sea. The pupils will camp as they travel on an 8 day expedition across Scotland, covering 355kms along the way.
They will cycle 226kms, hike 32kms and kayak 98kms, ascending 3,286 metres and descending 3,217 metres. They intend to raise £5000 for the Charlie Waller Trust, one the UKs leading mental health charities for young people.
The Charlie Waller Trust has supported the Morrison's Academy community by training 15 Senior pupils to become Mental Health First Aiders, helping to enhance the skill of our Pastoral team and providing workshops for parents. We now look forward to supporting them in their efforts to educate young people and those with responsibility for them about their mental health and wellbeing.
